How the BLE-Node Works

The BLE-node serves as a plug-and-play logging device specifically designed for our BoltSafe CMS sensors. Utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, it can store up to 1,750 bolt load measurements in its internal memory. When paired with a Windows device via Bluetooth, users have the capability to create real-time plots from up to four BLE-nodes at once.

One of the standout features of the BLE-node is its impressive battery life, lasting approximately five years. This extended battery duration makes it particularly advantageous for applications involving rotation or movement. Our complimentary "BoltSafe Connect" software enhances usability by allowing users to adjust the logging interval and download data from multiple BLE-nodes—up to 100 meters apart in a clear line of sight—in a single action. Our team is readily available to assist with any customization or implementation needs you may have.

How to Use the BLE-Node

To utilize the BLE-node, simply connect it to the BoltSafe CMS sensor and set the desired logging interval using our Windows software via Bluetooth. After the testing period, users can easily download the recorded bolt load data in a CSV format, which can be presented in either kilonewtons (kN) or pound-force (lbf).

Additionally, the BLE-node allows for simultaneous logging of sensor temperature data. When connected to a Windows device, users can generate real-time plots for up to four sensors, with the option to store this information in a CSV file as well. This functionality provides a comprehensive view of both bolt load and temperature, facilitating better analysis and decision-making.

People Also Ask

A BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) sensor is a compact device that uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology to monitor environmental or system parameters like temperature, humidity, motion, or pressure and transmit the data wirelessly to other BLE-enabled devices.

Sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks are individual units equipped with sensors, processors, and communication modules. These nodes collect and transmit data about their environment (e.g., temperature, humidity, vibrations) to a central hub or server for processing and analysis.

BLE is used for its energy efficiency, enabling devices to operate for extended periods on minimal power. It supports short-range communication with low latency, making it ideal for IoT applications like fitness trackers, smart homes, and medical devices.

BLE is widely used in- Wearable devices (fitness trackers, smartwatches) Healthcare applications (heart rate monitors, glucose sensors) Smart home systems (light bulbs, security systems) Asset tracking (beacons for retail or warehouses) Industrial IoT (machine monitoring, predictive maintenance)
